Dr. Andreas M. Kaiser received his Swiss Federal Diploma as a Physician in 1988 and his doctoral degree (M.D.) in 1989 from the University of Zurich. After an internship in surgical pathology, Dr. Kaiser entered the training program in surgery at the University Hospital of Zurich, 1990. He did a two year research fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston from 1993-1995, and then finished his surgical training 1995-1998 by passing the qualifying exams of the Swiss Board of General Surgery in 1998.Dr. Kaiser did a fellowship in visceral surgery from 1998-2000 at the University Hospital in Zurich, followed by a fellowship in colorectal surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California in March 2000. Upon completion of his specialty training, Dr. Kaiser accepted in July 2001 the Faculty position of Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery.Dr. Kaiser is FMH board-certified in general surgery and has received the EBSQ board certification in Coloproctology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), and a member of several professional associations to include the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS), the European Association of Coloproctology (EACP), the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract (SSAT), the Swiss Surgical Society, the Swiss Society for Visceral Surgery, the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the American Medical Association (AMA).
