Biography: Misagh Karimi, M.D. has previously practiced at UC Irvine medical center, as well as Oregon Health and Science University as an assistant professor in hematology and oncology. Dr Karimi headed the clinical research unit of OHSU Community Oncology program and was intimately involved in bringing the cutting edge clinical trials in medical oncology to treat cancer patients. His research background is in several areas in GI oncology but he also has interest in lung cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer and other general medical oncology and hematology diagnoses. His personal hobbies and interests include spending time with his wife and children. He also enjoys recreational activities such as jogging, basketball and biking. He states, “I strive to keep abreast of new technology, to offer superior individualized treatment and clinical trials – when appropriate, for all my patients.”

Biography: Swapnil Rajurkar, M.D., is a medical oncologist at City of Hope – Pomona. Previously, he was a medical oncologist with Wilshire Oncology Group, Inc. An active member in the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology, he has published in the Journal of Clinical Oncology and presented posters at several major conferences. As an oncologist, Dr. Rajurkur is especially interested in lung, prostate and gynecological cancers. His personal hobbies and interests include spending time with his family and tennis, which he finds is a great form of exercise and relaxation. He states, My goal is to provide compassionate and individualized treatment for my patient’s through the use of evidence-based medicine, access to the best technology and enrollment in clinical trials.”
