It is estimated that about 27,510 cases of gastric cancer will be diagnosed, and 11,140 people will die from this type of cancer in 2019. Gastric cancer affects mostly older people, and the risk for men is higher than for women. Risk factors for gastric cancer include age, diet, and stomach disease such as H. pylori.
