Sensitivity to Culture, Diversity and Implicit Bias in Healthcare Decision-Making

If your medical staff needs an update on how culture, diversity and implicit bias affect decision-making in healthcare, consider contacting our office to book a speaker on this topic at 877-505-4777or info@speakersnetwork.com.

What is the problem?

Implicit bias refers to the “attitudes or stereotypes, both favorable and unfavorable, that affect understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner.” Implicit bias is widespread and can negatively affect patient care. More evidence shows the existence of bias and its negative impact on health disparities. Healthcare professionals need to be aware of their biases and take steps to reduce these disparities.
