Neuropsychiatric Symptoms in Dementia

More than 90% of patients with dementia develop new-onset neuropsychiatric symptoms, including apathy, agitation, aggression, anxiety, depression, night-time behaviors, irritability, hallucinations, delusions, and motor symptoms. Being able to identify and treat these symptoms is paramount to dementia care. There are a few new pharmacological treatments that have emerged within the past 5 years that providers should be aware of, especially for agitation.

Breast Cancer

About 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 13%) will develop invasive breast cancer throughout their lifetime. In 2024, an estimated 310,720 new invasive breast cancer diagnosis cases are expected in women in the U.S. For women in the U.S., breast cancer death rates are higher than those for other cancers besides lung cancer.
