WEEK 2 OF 5
June 7, 2026Increasing Attendance: A 5-Week Series for Medical Education Meeting Planners
Last week: Leadership alignment.
This week: Non-attendee feedback.
Tip 3#: Listen to the People who Didn’t Come
Attendance data tells you who showed up. Non-attendee surveys tell you why everyone else didn’t.
And that’s where the most actionable information lives.
Was it the time? The topic? A clinical obligation that couldn’t wait? You won’t know until you ask.
- Send a brief non-attendee survey after every session, three questions or fewer
- Track attendance patterns by department, role, and session format over time
- Share trends with department leadership quarterly
- When chiefs see their medical staff’s engagement data, they become partners, not just recipients of your next invite
Non-attendee data is your roadmap. Share it with leadership and turn them into allies who are invested in education and improving patient care.
Do you survey non-attendees? What’s the most surprising reason you’ve heard? Share below.
