August 30, 2023TRENDING WELLNESS TOPIC: Controlled Substance Prescribing Guidelines
What is the problem?
The opioid crisis continues to rage on in the United States. More than 75% of drug overdose deaths in 2020 involved an opioid. The prescribing of controlled substances has changed significantly in the United States due mainly to the opioid crisis, but also questioning the efficacy of these medications. It has led to greater scrutiny from government agencies, insurers, and even the public as a whole. Many new practices have been mandated by government agencies and others that are now considered the standard of care that must be followed when prescribing these medications.
