In the United States, over 100 million adults are living with diabetes and pre-diabetes.
Most patients with diabetes are cared for by their primary care doctors. Healthcare providers need to have resources to provide the best possible patient care.
In early 2022, the American Diabetes Association (ADA) published a new abridged version of standards of care in diabetes for primary care physicians (PCPs). The report focuses on diabetes care concepts, including patient-centeredness, diabetes across the lifespan, and advocacy for patients with diabetes.
According to the latest CDC report, approximately 11.3% of the population has diabetes, and 38% has pre-diabetes. Diabetes puts people at risk of stroke, heart disease, kidney failure, and many other health issues. Did you know men develop type II diabetes slightly more than women? Men with diabetes are twice as likely to have low testosterone than men who don’t have diabetes as well.
