November 6, 2023TRENDING WELLNESS TOPIC: Immunization Update
What is the problem?
The CDC has released an updated immunization schedule for 2023 for children, adolescents, and adults. Physicians need to be up-to-date with this new information, which now includes recommendations for COVID-19 vaccines. As we enter the respiratory season, outbreaks of respiratory and other diseases are expected. It is important for physicians to be able to discuss options and current recommendations for vaccines with their patient populations.
Learning Objectives
After this activity, the learners will be able to:
Identify individuals who are at risk from vaccine-preventable infections and diagnose them timely
Vaccinate patients to prevent outbreaks while navigating patients’ and/or parents’ cultural beliefs concerning vaccinations and address concerns as they arise
Recognize the clinical presentation of long-term effects
Employ an appropriate combination of vaccines for children and adults.
Educate patients and address their concerns about vaccinations while maintaining a culturally-sensitive approach
