April 25, 2023TRENDING CME TOPIC: DERMATOLOGY FOR THE PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER
What is the problem?
Physicians should understand common dermatology issues as primary care providers frequently encounter them, including rashes, benign skin growths, and skin cancers. Patients often inquire about these issues, but physicians may not feel confident addressing them. Unfortunately, most primary care doctors receive little formal training in dermatology during medical school and residency, which can result in sub-optimal clinical care and increased morbidity and mortality rates. Thus, providers must be able to accurately diagnose and treat common dermatologic issues to ensure proper patient care.
Learning Objectives
- Accurately describe and document skin problems using proper terminology
- Diagnose common skin conditions, including benign skin growths and skin cancers
