The Rising Rates of Cancer in Young Adults
November 6, 2025Featured CME TOPIC: Prostate Cancer
What is the problem?
In 2025, prostate cancer is projected to have 313,780 new cases and 35,770 deaths in the United States. The lifetime risk is about 1 in 8 for all men, and it accounts for roughly 30% of all new male cancers. Recent data indicate a concerning trend of increasing incidence rates after a period of decline, particularly for advanced stages. Treatment of prostate cancer is often successful. There is controversy regarding the best screening and treatment approaches for prostate cancer. Physicians should be aware of current best practices and guidelines for those at risk or diagnosed with prostate cancer.
